Gigabit Broadband Across Amber Valley
Cellex are proud to have successfully delivered 3 phases of ultrafast fibre-broadband to more than 23,000 homes across Belper, Heanor, and Nether Heage in Amber Valley, Derbyshire. This ambitious project, undertaken in three different distinct build phases, brought gigabit-capable connectivity to areas previously underserved due to challenging topography and historic infrastructure.
Gigabit Broadband Across Amber Valley

Amber Valley’s rich industrial heritage and varied landscape presented unique obstacles/ The towns of Belper and Heanor, with their historic conservation areas and narrow streets, required meticulous planning to preserve their character while upgrading the infrastructure. Nether Heage’s rural setting posed additional logistical challenges, including limited existing ducting and difficult terrain.

Cellex’s engineering teams employed innovate solutions, such as micro-trenching and aerial fibre deployment, to navigate these complexities. Close collaboration with the local authorities ensured that the build respected the area’s heritage and minimised disruption to residents.
